Separating Families
Listen
Kathryn interviews trauma and PTSD expert Christine C. Forner MSW, RSW on her book “Dissociation, Mindfulness, and Creative Meditations: Trauma-Informed Practices to Facilitate Growth”. Separation from caregivers is traumatic. Children move into a state of panic and terror as they search for humans that they intuit to help them get to safety. Forner discusses family separation and why it's harmful, exploring the potential of mindfulness and why this level of developmental human achievement is so important within traumatic stress.
