Women's Pro Football
No one knows better what it's like for a woman to break into a traditionally male sport than Andra Douglas MA. As the quarterback and owner of the New York Sharks professional woman’s football team, she fought for the opportunity to play football from her earliest days growing up in Central Florida. In her book, Douglas talks about how she overcame countless personal and financial sacrifices to achieve her dream of playing football. A native of central Florida and a graduate of Florida State University and Pratt Institute, she’s been a National Champion athlete in rugby and women's tackle football, a Vice President/Creative Director at Time Warner, and has founded a non-profit to benefit at-risk teens. Douglas is currently focusing on her mixed-media artwork.
