Loosely based on several real-life art ponzi schemes over the past few decades, Anna Barrington allows the readers to peek behind the velvet curtain and step into this secretive yet fascinating sphere. The book deftly intertwines a plot with scathing social commentary, as if Donna Tartt’s “The Secret History” was set in the universe of HBO’s Succession. Meet Ingrid, an aspiring artist and struggling gallery assistant eager to gain a foothold in the highly competitive art world. She soon crosses paths with the charming, mysterious Rudolph Sullivan, a powerful figure at the top of the gallery scene. Pulled into his web of lies, Ingrid finds herself at the center of Rudolph’s complex attempt to maintain his sparkling image. She has worked in galleries, museums, and auction houses in the art world for 7 years. She received an MA from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London and a BA from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
